I’m due to fly LHR > IAD in may (check 9th/10th)
They put the outbound flight back by 5 hours arriving into IAD at 9pm but they’ve stil not changed ANY of the return flights which still show departing IAD 17:50. 3 hours before the outbound arrives!
Any ideas why? Has someone made a booboo and the outbound could change back.
I am in the same boat as you, the VS21 schedule appears to have changed only for May, but not consistently:
From May 7th depart 5:30pm & arrive 8:55pm
From May 14th depart 7:05pm & arrive 10:30pm(!)
Before returning to normal from June 1st.
It is more puzzling that like you say the return VS22 has not changed at all.
I am caught in the change after May 14th, arriving in Washington after 10pm (realistically not far off midnight before getting downtown) does not sound appealing.
According to FR24 the outbound VS21 aircraft now stays on the ground in Washington for almost 20 hours before returning.
There was also a one-off VS683 on Sunday which turned into the VS22 back to London.
I suppose this answers the question of why the VS22 timings have not changed, although it’s still bizarre.
As you say. Yes there was a re-positioning flight VS683 which flew empty. The strange thing was this at the original flight time and the later flight was the passenger flight. Why on earth would you inconvenience 300+ passengers when there was no need?
And why would you have a plane sitting around for 20 hours!
I’d love to know their logic on this one.
