Does anyone have any tips for BKK-CPT (or close by) in business class using virgin points?

Really struggling to find anything on any dates/routes using virgin search engine.

I thought Air France or KLM via CDG/ams might be an option but still cannot find anything.

    Thanks !

More availability, on new routes, might open up in February when VS becomes a full member of SkyTeam. SQ6079/ET609 BKK-ADD, then SQ6069/ET847 ADD-CPT, is probably your best bet. Another option is to find something with an NZ codeshare on, but there seem to be less of them. Whether VS can price this up for you probably needs you to call to ask.

    Wrong alliance!

This isn’t going to be Skyteams strong point routing wise and routes via Europe are very popular flights and would probably require 2 bookings. Try searching on the AF/KL websites

What’s the wrong alliance? You can use VS points on NZ and SQ, irrespective of alliance. That might change in February, but it works currently.

    In theory

You can’t however use them on codeshares so anything Ethiopian Airlines (Star Alliance) operated won’t be possible even if it carried an NZ code

You also can’t book anything on Singapore Airlines business class (which would be great for this route) – economy only using partner miles

SQ blocks most long haul premium seats for partners like Virgin.
