Hi,
I’ve read the recent articles on the Prority Pass pre-booking entitlement and have them showing in my app however slightly annoying that supplementary card holders don’t get there own entitlement.
One question I saw posted on the article was to use the 4 credits for a family of 4 with the supp card holder using their card and guest entitlement with Rob answering that this wasn’t possible, however i’m just checking to see if anyone has actually tried this?
The PP website here, https://prioritypass.com/pre-book-entitlements-platinum-amex-uk?tagrid=74891851, says the following…
“To gain entry to a lounge each Cardmember and any accompanying guests will be required to use either a paid lounge visit or visit entitlement”
and elsewhere
“your Pre-book entitlements are separate from your lounge visit entitlements.”
… which may seem to suggest that supp card holders can use their entitlement as long as they are travelling with the main card holder or indeed the guest can pay the full lounge price at the door and not the reduced PP guest rate (as an exmaple).
Any thoughts on the wording of this or use of this in practice?
Thanks
AK
Let me tell you what we did last week.
I booked 4 slots in a lounge via my wife’s Plat card, which is the only one of the 3 Plat cards in our house where pre-booking is working properly (she has her own Plat, I have my own Plat, HfP has a Bus Plat).
When we arrived at the lounge, we swiped my Priority Pass for 2 of the 4 people and her Priority Pass for 2 of the four people.
This meant that – whilst we used my wife’s 4 pre-booking entitlements, we didn’t pay guest fees for person 3 and person 4 because we put 2 through my PPass and 2 through hers.
There is clearly no guarantee that a lounge will allow you to mix Priority Pass cards in this way if the pre-book is in a different name, but it makes zero difference to the lounge in terms of what they are paid.
In the same way, if your question was ‘Can the main cardholder book 4 pre-book slots but then in the lounge we swipe the main cardholder and the supp cardholders PPass cards for 2 people each?’ the answer in my experience is yes.
