A virtual queue to access the PP at LHR T2 today.
Can’t recall them having virtual queue before? I was No 9 on queue after registering but got a message after 2 mins inviting me to enter but guess it’s easy to squeeze in a solo traveller than a group. There were about 30 people waiting outside when I left.
I’m flying from LHR T2 tomorrow.
At what time did you see the virtual queue?
Seen in before and always refuse to join, I don’t want to be let in 20 mins before boarding. I’d rather go and have dinner in a restaurant than hang around waiting for *the chance* to be let in
Call me cynical but easy to see why executives would want low paying guests in the lounge for as little time as possible
With the Singapore and Aer Lingus lounges shut, I’d forget about trying to get into Plaza for the summer.

I’ve seen no evidence to suggest the virtual queue operates in any way other than a FIFO basis. I much prefer it to the alternative ‘Please just stand to the side and wait until there’s capacity’ option. Any time I’ve joined a PP virtual queue I’ve simply gone straight to the lounge on arrival, joined the virtual queue then just ran a few errands that needed to be done (usually the purchasing a bottle of whiskey from Duty Free) and by the time I’m done I have already received notification that I’m free to enter the lounge.
Will be passing through T2 on a Saturday morning in a few weeks. Will see how it is then.
Joined the T5 queue early afternoon on Saturday – two of us. No 19 in the queue. Took no more than 10 minutes to get in, probably 6-7 but I didn’t check my watch. We were lucky to get two seats together.
What struck me was that (at least at Gatwick) you used to join a queue, show them your PP card and get told to wait or go away. With the virtual system they don’t know how you are “paying” so can’t discriminate between lowly Amex PPers and higher paying guests.
