-
Hello,
My parents and I would be very grateful for any help! They were booked to fly to meet family in the States in July. Tickets were booked with Avios and a companion voucher. Sadly the trip had to be cancelled due to a health issue, and they’ve now rebooked the trip.
They’re due to fly MAN – LHR – BOS on Tuesday 15th Oct, returning 10 days later.
For some unknown reason, tickets still haven’t been issued although they were confirmed 1 week ago.
They keep getting told that tickets will be issued and they should wait.
Can anyone offer advice, echo the experience or suggest ways to resolve it?
Many thanks!
I can only advise keep calling BA. Definitely do so on Monday if tickets haven’t been issued by then. Your parents definitely shouldn’t just turn up at the airport as they will just be calling BA from the airport. Good luck.
Tickets are reissued in order of flight date order so a flight for Tuesday will be heading rapidly up the list.
I would posit it would have been done sooner but Milton came along and disturbed everything.
If it’s not sorted by Monday morning I would definitely call then but not before.
If it’s still not done by Tuesday, allow plenty of time at the airport. It will get fixed, but it might not be quick.
Take a look at that flight as though you were a new customer.
Are they still selling seats on it? If not this could indicate a greater problem. If so you should redouble your efforts to find a solution rather than wait till they potentially get hugely messed around at the airport.

Just becauae a flight is no longer on sale does not mean a problem. It could actually be sold out.
The place to look this close in to departure is the flight status page. If it’s still showing there then it’s still due to operate
Not really BAFIS. If they’re still selling seats on it then this is a good guide that a number of potential problems have not befallen the flight.
If tickets are not still being sold then the flight being full, is one of the better possibilities.
However it could indicate if tickets are not still being sold, that not only is it full but overbooked.
Sales could also have been stopped while an equipment change is sorted out – an indicator of potential further issues.
The flight could also in fact have effectively been cancelled, just not removed yet from schedules showing, even though not selling seats. (Easyjet has done this a lot and they wouldn’t be the only one.)
It’s all about checking more than one thing so as to identify or eliminate if there could be something else going on with the flight.
