Some expert advice wanted please, or perhaps just reassurance as this is the first time I have been on the end of a BA cancellation…
BA have cancelled my positioning flight for an ex-MAD Iberia redemption.
I’m still in a good place: my redemption is 4 months off and my positioning flight is the previous day so happily no panic.
BA have rebooked me on their next flight which is their last of the day, though there are still 4 scheduled IB flights later.
My question: is there any reason at all to be wary of accepting the rebooking? If it is subsequently cancelled do I still have full EU261 rights if their next suggested rebooking isn’t suitable?
Many thanks for any advice.
The only reason I can’t think of to hold off on rebooking is that BA might again juggle the schedule and something better pops in. This happened to me last year (rebooked too soon). As you’ve noted on a frequent route like Madrid though it’s hardly likely to be a big bother one way or another. If you’re after exit row seats I’d rebook immediately.
