I have recently been refused a price match versus Agoda on the basis, for a reservation starting 13 October, that the cancel for free period on Agoda (by 10 October) is 17 days longer than my Radisson reservation (by 23 Sept) because supposedly it needs to be identical.
No mention that I can read within the Price Match Guarantee conditions that a fee free period needs to be identical.
It seems to me to be just be a case of finding any slight variation to avoid having to pay out.
The Comparison Rate must be for the same hotel, same reservation date(s), same room type (i.e. room size and amenities), same number of guests, same currency as the Radissonhotels.com confirmation email, and the same advance payment and refund policies and restrictions must apply.
The last sentence covers this. I haven’t bothered with a hotel BRG for a long time, as you say they are wise to it and inventory sold off elsewhere often has slightly different T&C so it is excluded
You could try contacting the hotel directly to see if they can match it
