    On Saturday he tried to open an account, he was even given an account number. However he is being told to click the link in an email. However he hasn’t had an email, it’s not in junk either. We clicked resend email and it still hasn’t arrived.

    Anyone got any ideas what is happening (or rather not happening) before we make what now seems like an inevitable phone call?

    Is the email address he used to register a personal or a corporate email? BA’s servers had a weird issue back in 2015 where due to a change in BA’s IP addresses that resulted in some receiving systems (particularly corporate email systems) rejecting the BA emails as arriving from unrecognised IP addresses.

    Another possibility is that the email address was incorrectly entered during the registration process.

    Has he tried just logging into the new account?

    Hi AJA thanks for replying, not a corporate computer just personal.

    I think our mistake was thinking that the email would come through almost instantaneously, but it actually showed up just before lunch, must have been stuck in the ether somewhere for 24 hours, so he finally has an account even though he has got nothing in it.

    I want to send him a link to an AMEX offer I have in my account, and wanted to make sure he had an BAEC account number he could use when applying.
