Hi,
Not sure if this has been posted before but is there any way to receive text/app-based push notification for transactions done through the card?
Could have contacted Barclays themselves but you all know their level of competency.
Oh don’t confuse Barclaycard with fancy request like push on spend notification…
Let ten get the basics like processing Avios point to BA account in a timely way.

My thoughts exactly…

So true. I hope someone from Barclays would go through the forum and actually see for themselves how incompetent they are.
Let’s see now – poor automated menus, no dedicated line, card significantly delayed, Apple benefits don’t work and are of limited trial value that is also offered to free BarclayCard holders, there are no benefits of real value (apart from the sign-up bonus and a possible upgrade voucher which offers limited uses), no push notifications, card transactions take days to post, no Apple Pay, problems with Curve, Avios are late to post, communication is sporadic, and a high monthly fee.
If anybody would be going through this forum then take note – in order for me to keep paying £20 a month I would expect at least 1 or 2 of the following – travel insurance, life insurance, lounge pass, concierge access, hotel benefits, cashback on the monthly fee (with a certain spend) etc. similar to what US/Asian users get with a premium travel card. I know I know…
Turn push notifications on in the app:
Click on My Profile (top left)
Then click on Settings (gear in top right)
Then push notifications
Enable push notifications
Let us know if it works! I have it enabled but I only get notifications for my Barclays current account.

It is turned on by default. I still don’t receive any notifications. I have text notifications turned on in my online banking.
I only have the Barclayscard app and not the current account app.
I am grateful for HfP as it is much more useful to find information like this than Barclays/Barclaycard website and their CS.
I have asked their customer service. First rep asked me if I had done all the require steps, and then raised an incident case for me.
No news from them for a week, so I reached out again with the case reference number. They said some people from a team called a few times but could not reach me. I said no one ever called me. Anyway, the CS rep said “transaction on credit card, unlike on debit card, does not send push notifications on app”.
Nothing in Barclays makes sense.
– If push notification is not available to their credit cards at all, why their Barclaycard app offers push notifications? Barclays banking user usually would just use their Barclays Banking app, not the Barclaycard app.
– If push notification is never meant for Barclaycard, why did they even bother to raise an incident case? There should not be any investigation needed if the system is working as designed.
Very disappointing customer experience for such a major bank.
