Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Qantas booked and marketed flights operated by Emirates

Do these still qualify for BA Tier points. Two years ago it did for me.

However on checking on the BA website it looks like they have done a subtle change to the wording so Im not sure.

Any thoughts would be most welcomed

    No they no longer qualify

There was an article about it a couple of days ago!

“Flights marketed and operated by Qantas or Qantas Airlines affiliates under the QF designated code”.

This is what is on the BA website. When I search for who are Qantas airline affiliates Emirates comes up but I’m not convinced.

My flights have been booked ages ago. If it’s really the case then I suppose that I better link my bookings to Qantas frequent flyer to try and gain status.

Thanks, yes that was the piece that got me concerned. It highlights One (in bold) World Airlines which is new.

However there is nothing specially mentioned about Emirates. Im really hoping that Emirates is still a Qantas Airline Affiliate and my booking is with Qantas.

‘Affiliate’ means Jetstar, QantasLink etc, ie subsidiaries.

You’d be best asking nicely for credit pointing out the rules at the time you booked if they would have got the flight credited. This ought to be accepted by a reasonable program.

Btw I gather the earn-burn reward ratios on the Qantas program make other OneWorld programs more interesting to credit any accidental Qantas flights to (I think I’ve put that politely). Also in Australia, Virgin Australia is developing some interesting alliances and may continue this so they could be worth keeping an eye on.
