The fact it wasn’t a CL game would also explain why no access was granted to the lounge after full time.
The Champions Club is supposed to be open for 1 hour post-match for matches at the San Siro (Milan and Internazionale).
In reality it will be a little shorter before they encourage you to leave.
I was in the UEFA Champions Club for the Man City v Club Brugge and Man City v Real Madrid matches.
The Champions Club is in a marquee in the car park to the SE of the stadium (close to Velopark Metrolink stop).
Access opens 3 hours before KO and is available for 1 hour after FT.
The usual arrangements in terms of the sponsors’ drinks offerings (Heineken, Pepsi products and wines).
Decent self-serve buffet, also with waiters roaming the tables bringing a variety of hot plates and the ubiquitous bottles of Heineken.
The walk from the marquee to the stadium takes about 3-4 mins.
At HT, there are food and drinks available (very briefly) in the Commonwealth Lounge which is just behind the seats in the East Stand lower (to save the walk to and from the marquee). Beer, wine, Pepsi, small cheese pies, Lay’s crisps (can you tell Pepsico are a sponsor?)
The post-match buffet in the marquee comprises desserts and cheeses.

I was at the City vs Real Madrid game in Champions Club. Not via Qatar mind. Decent atmosphere with the live singer and all.

I guess the average will just go up quite a bit as the competition progresses.
Need to plan for a group game next season. Do they auction qualifiers? Would be good to take the family before it starts getting cold.
I intend to make a Big-ish bid for the CL Final with a large Avios Balance (Say 250k Points). However I am unsure if that will be enough come the Final and also the package includes two tickets and I probably only need one. Would anyone who also only needs one ticket and wants to make a bid consider joining forces so we can use our combined Avios Balance to make a larger bid and then split it should we win?
Any offers are welcome.

I wouldn’t make definite plans until you have got the tickets confirmed.
It would be purely speculation as to what future games are offered (e.g. only certain games were offered in the Round of 16, full history from the start of this thread) and only ONE pair of tickets have been made available.

It would be amazing if they did indeed offer (hospitality?) tickets to the semi-finals and final, but there’s no inclination either way. IMO they should, because it would be a big win for their loyalty program (even if sans pitchsdie experience).
If you are considering a large amount of Avios, then you are better off looking at buying with cash for one of their official hospitality packages (will remove your two ticket complication also).
It is looking increasingly like that future auctions will predominantly go to people who are Avios rich (not necessarily cash poor).

Hi R2,
I have got it confirmed that each round will be offered by Qatar. So we can expect the Final Munition 31st May to be offered. I have got a large amount of Avios sitting around and am intending to make a big bid for the Final when it opens which will probably be after the conclusion of the Semis on 7th May I think with the bidding closing some 7-10 days before the match itself.
I don’t want to buy hospitality tickets cash as that will be more expensive for me (I consider myself Cash Poor!!) and I have these points anyway. But there is a chance that Final Tickets may go for more than the circa 250k points I have to spend (A Liverpool League phase match went for 202k Avios so Final should beat that we think). Given that I only need one ticket, I am happy if you or someone who only wants one ticket as well joins forces with me so we can make a bigger bid and split the Avios and take one ticket each should we win the auction if that makes sense.
Let me know your ideas.
Let’s see how the next two rounds go. In the interim, if you want, feel free to contact me on sparse30_quid AT iCloud DOT com.
If you don’t want hospitality, then you can apply for tickets in the UEFA public ballot later this month. I have been successful once before using this method.
Of course it’s a lottery, but I believe they release 10k tickets this way so you have got a chance.

I have indeed applied in the past for Football matches this way. Sometimes you get it , sometimes you don’t. If I don’t then the bid for the CL Final via Qatar is good and something I would be willing to do. The problem is that if a Liverpool League phase match went for 202k Avios, the Final will probably go for a lot more and so with me only needing one ticket I am happy to partner with another person who also only needs one ticket and we can make a joint bid and split the Avios and take one ticket each.
Winning bids for Quarter Finals Leg 1 Auctions. Average: 166k (+144k / -75k).
Arsenal FC vs Real Madrid C.F. 310,000

Paris Saint-Germain vs Aston Villa FC 163,000
FC Barcelona vs Borussia Dortmund 101,000All time average now: 56k (+254k / -54k).
New record high of 310k (presumably because of a London based team vs. Real Madrid). This was won by an auto bid – the limit intrigues me. It was at 210k shortly before close and then another bidder popped up; but alas every 10k increment (too high an increment IMO) by the new bidder, was automatically outbid by a further 10k.

Hi FazzyBear,
I see you are a regular bidder, so are you wanting two tickets or could you make do with one? The reason I ask is that as mentioned earlier, I intend to make a Big-ish bid for the CL Final with a relatively large Avios Balance (Say 250k Points). However I am unsure if that will be enough come the Final and also the package includes two tickets and I probably only need one. If you also only need one ticket and want to make a bid for the final, would you consider joining forces so we can use our combined Avios Balance to make a larger joint bid and then split it should we win? One ticket each and half the Avios each. If a QF Match went for 310k Avios, the final is likely to go for a lot more. My budget of 250k Avios is unlikely to get it on its own but if someone else wants to merge another 250k with mine then it’s possible at 500k Avios or so and we take one ticket each.
Let me know.

I currently don’t have plans to go to the final, but depending on the teams I may change my mind.
The logistics of sharing avios will probably be a stumbling block.

Thanks. The way it would probably have to work is that one of us would have to “trust” the other and transfer the points to the other so that a bid can be made. If we don’t win, transfer it back. The transfers cost £50 each I think but there is a limit on how many you can transfer in a year I think.
