    Hoping someone can help.

We are both Privilege members with qatar and have a small amount of avios points each which we want to use for cash avios for business flights from paris to bali for sons wedding. So we have to make 2 separate bookings to use the avios against each seat. We have tried to do this twice but each time one says ok and mine says seats not available on one of the flights. But hubby has his booking on screen to select seats and it shows quite alot of availability on both sectors both ways. We then went back in and flights have gone up.

We have tried to do this twice at different times and it has done the same. Flights at same lower price to start and then go up to another price on the next attempt. Any way around this. Always my flight that gets turned down even though we press the book button at the same time. Losing the will here. Thanks on advance

What are you trying to do here, use avios to reduce the price of cash flights? If so, you shouldn’t have to make separate bookings.

What sort of price difference are you talking about?

We are trying to make desperate bookings do we can use both lots of avios. One booking allows us to go through to booking and the other says no seats left. we then go back into mine and it shows the flight is £300 more. Left it a few hours and go back in and the same again. So frustrating

Where/when are you trying to book to and can you confirm you want to use avios to reduce the cash price?
Are you booking directly with Qatar? Via the app or on a computer?
What is the price difference you’re being shown?

It sounds like there is only one seat left at that price – what price do you see if you see 2 seats? If it’s the higher price then that confirms it and you’d have to pay more for the second seat (which is still better than paying +£600 that you’d have to if you booked together!)

Sounds like a job for a household/family account… Have you got one set up? Give that a go if not – should allow you to book both seats on one booking, drawing from both your Avios pots.

That said, if the price difference is due to there being only one seat left in the lowest fare bucket, as @SamG says, then you’ll likely be better off booking separately anyway (but could then try phoning QR to link them – may or may not make much difference, but might keep you together if there’s irrops etc).

One other thought – clear browser cookies between searches? May or may not help, but something to try.

OP ia booking via QR, I don’t think HHA is a thing with QR Privilege.

They appear to have a thing called Family Programme:

“Enjoy more with our Family Programme
Get the most out of your Privilege Club membership when you pool all Avios earned by nominated family members into the main member’s account for faster rewards.”

    https://www.qatarairways.com/en/Privilege-Club/family-programme.html

I know nothing about how it actually works though, or whether already-earned miles can be pooled retrospectively.

I wonder whether another option would be to move the Avios to BA and book from a household account there, assuming the required flights are available that way.
