March this year, our onward flight DOH to BNE was delayed by 4 days due to cyclone Alfred.
I submitted a claim shortly after arriving at BNE.
I have tried multiple times to progress the claim ( only £350) but get told each time to wait and they’ll be in touch. Last time it was they’ll progress it to urgent..but 6 weeks on still no contact. Is this usual?
It’s now 5 months since the delayed flight.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks,
Chris
@exlatccatsa – unfortunately QR is terrible with any such claims and six weeks would be far from unusual. You probably just need to chase them weekly until they respond.
Hard to see how they couldn’t get out of paying compensation.
Are you claiming, in fact, out of pocket expenses and perhaps confusing them by calling it compensation incorrectly, rather than right to care / duty of care? However from DOH to BNE I don’t think EU261 covers you unless your actual departure was from UK / Europe with just a connection in DOH.
What compensation would the OP be due for cancellations / delays due to weather?
OP really needs to give more info on what they are trying to claim for.

The sum of money being claimed – £350 – would suggest that it’s only right to care expenses rather than any delay compensation.
