Keys will replace Qcredits and unlock availability to the award flights and upgrades of your choice. This will give you the chance to spend Avios on award flights to remarkable destinations, or upgrades to indulge in ultimate luxury.*
Your current Qcredits balance will be automatically converted into Keys soon. You will receive one Key when renewing your Gold tier, or two Keys when reaching the Platinum tier.”
I guess this is relevant to people who credit their TPs to Qatar PC instead of BAEC. After today’s news, that could increase, but I’d guess it’s a low proportion of this forum.
The way I read the email, “keys” are similar to GGL Jokers in the BA world.Currently sitting on 100 qcredits so will be watching closely to see if This is a back door devaluation.
To be fair to Qatar they bend over backwards every time there’s an issue. They’ve changed the doh-Kul aircraft from Qsuite to non Qsuite three times on me in the last month and every time they’ve rebooked me. Twice on a flight out of kul and once on the Singapore flight the next day no questions asked. Every flight I’ve been on I get greeted at the door by name. It really is consistently impeccable service time after time.
