QR Reward Flights to KIX

Hi all,

Struggling here as the Qatar app, website, and agents are unable to calculate taxes for a business redemption flight to KIX. Seems to be system bug for the past week or so.

I am being told that it is 80,000 avios one way (which is fine) but £780 in taxes and fees from LHR, €738 from CDG, or €685 from AMS. I am convinced taxes and fees aren’t this high and more like £500 from LHR.

Does anybody have any recent experience with this or know what taxes and fees are more likely to be before I escalate with QR to get it corrected and booked?

I just had a look at this on ba.com out of interest for the route and it’s showing as 80k avios plus £400.61. Rather than grappling with QR CS, would it be easier to book via BA, even if you have to transfer the avios?

Brilliant, thank you. Didn’t think to go through BA as thought taxes higher from previous experience but seems spot on!
