Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Qualifying flight for status match, does Delta count?

looking at the Virgin status match, however I cannot get the flights I want ticketed by virgin, I can get however DL ticketed but VS operated.

Anyone know if it has to be Virgin ticketed to count as the revenue flight? T&Cs are very light on detail, and just says a revenue flight on Virgin

This is one of those things where I am certain there is no rule and it is down to whoever handles it in the Virgin office on the day, unfortunately.

If you look at the terms on the same page as the status match form, it states:

You’ll also need to have a future revenue flight booked with Virgin Atlantic in either Premium Economy or Upper Class.

Now I understand that “booked with Virgin Atlantic” is not entirely clear-cut. But I think it is save to say you either need to book through virginatlantic.com or another direct channel OR you need Virgin ticket stock at the very least.

I think by that rule, you can pretty much rule out Delta ticket stock. I agree with Rob, though, that in practice, YMMV.

I completely agree, which is why I’m trying to hard to ticket on Virgin, but I guess I was throwing out a dove in the hope someone had another experience 🙁
