Logged into my SO’s BAEC account this morning to find that she had a 3,000 Avios transaction titled ‘Finance Card: AMEX WELCOME BONUS’ on 8th September.
The only card she holds is the BAPP and we haven’t spend anything on it for around 6 months now (waiting to trigger the voucher as close as possible to the £10k spending cut-off).
Any ideas what this could be? She hasn’t added any new supplementary cards, which was my first thought. Is it an error? Conveniently, there is nothing listed on the Amex Statements – they all show as £0 spend, 0 Avios earnt.
Edit: checked the rewards section of the Amex account and it shows an entry as:
Earnt Supp Card Bonus +3,000 Points
Transferred Bonus Avios -3,000 Points
Anyone else had this on their accounts, despite NOT adding any new supplementary cardholders? Was this some kind of extra bonus for existing cardholders, amid all the recent bonuses etc?
I would delete the whole thread….
Pretty sure it is linked to the delay in posting SUP bonuses over the last year, so many where manually processed and then the system caught up and re-processed it automatically…
Mods: suggest that thread is deleted 🙈
