So, I started off on the paid Barclaycard Avios Plus, then after hitting the £3K signup bonus, I downgraded to the free Barclaycard Avios through the app. That was a year ago. Now I want to re-upgrade back to Barclaycard Avios Plus and the app is showing “No other options available” under the “Change to a different card” section. A year ago, it let me downgrade to the free version. Now it won’t let me change to any other Barclaycard. Anyone else in the same boat? Are you only allowed to change card once?
You typically have to wait a full 12 months after completing the Avios Plus -> Avios Basic downgrade before it will let you upgrade again, although I had options to switch to the Platinum or Rewards cards before that. Either way I’m afraid if the app says No then the answer is No, the call centre won’t be able to do anything.
