Merry Christmas.
I will be booking the double tier points offer by 31 Dec to reach Silver for first time.
When does the silver status kick in? Once the holiday is complete and tier points are credited?
Can I use the silver status straight away to make use of the lounge and seat allocation for the holiday booking?
My tier year ends Nov 2023 – does that mean from I’d drop down to Blue status (zero tier points) again in Dec 2023?
Many thanks in advance
Status is only earned once you have flown and the TPs credited (and you achieve the thresholds)
You won’t get lounge access until you’ve achieved the status. If you want lounge access for the trip that will get you Silver then you’d need to book a club fare.
When you earn a status you have if for the rest of the collection year you earned it in and then the next year. Unless you reearned it at the end of your November 2024 collection year you’d drop to bronze for a year.
Thank you. Good to know it last the extra yet.
Is there a way to find out how many tier points are offered for flight/hotel or flight/car packages. The BA Holiday search tool doesn’t specify the tier points. Naturally I want to go for one that achieves Silver.
Correct assume the flight element can be upgraded to Business with a phone call and Avios?
There is an AviosTP checker on BA website. You have to key in the route ie departing and arriving airport so if you fly MaN-LHR-SOF you need to check MAN to LHR separately from LHR to SOF. It is one way so if you do return you need to multiply by 2.
You need to enter the airline and your status too.

Use the tier point calculator on the BA website. Note it only shows the base TPs not including the bonus holidays ones.
If you are doing a multi leg trip you need to search for each separate flight. You don’t earn TPs on the hotel or car elements.
Yes you can upgrade but you’d need to call BA holidays end there needs to be avios availability and of course you’ll only earn TPs based on the cash fare cabin.
