We are booked on a BA Holiday from Newcastle to Denver.
Our Departure flights are on Thursday 12 May as follows-
NCL to LHR – 915
LHR to DEN – 14.50
I received an e-mail at 23.26 on the 27th (15 days) as follows:-
“9.15 NCL to LHR is cancelled”
My first reaction was to phone BA and try and rebook us on the 06.00 flight from NCL to LHR.
(There is an 11.45 flight arriving LHR at 13.05,but that connection seems tight in the current circumstances)
However,I have read on this forum that it is sometimes better to wait for BA to make contact.
We are pretty infrequent flyers with only Blue status.
We would appreciate any advice from members of the forum, who have much more BA experience than us.
Should I try and rebook myself on the 06.00 or wait for BA to make contact?
Thank you for your help.
Take a look at your booking in MMB. You might find you’ve been allocated another flight to accept. Otherwise you should be able to change to other flights.
If you are worried about missing the connection then go for the earlier flight from NCL.
Unfortunately you will not be eligible for compensation as the cancellation was notified more than 14 days out however you are still entitled to duty of care and BA has a responsibility to get you to your destination.
As it is a BA Holidays booking you may find that you have yo make any changes via the BAH telephone number that should be noted somewhere in your reservation.
Thank you,AJA.
Unable to change flight time in “Manage My Booking” (MMB) – so far at least.
As you say, possibly because it is a BA Holiday
Booking.
Tried phoning, which of course was a pointless exercise.
Will just keep checking for an e mail update and
also seeing if I can do anything via MMB over the next couple of days.
Thanks again.
