Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Recommendations for Hilton properties in Dublin or Dubai with Diamond status

  • 12 posts

    Hi everyone,

I’m considering a cost-effective weekend break with my partner and was wondering if anyone could recommend Hilton properties in either Dublin or Dubai that are ideal for making the most of Diamond status. Specifically, I’m looking for:
    • A great breakfast experience.
    • Executive lounge access with worthwhile perks.
    • Insights on upgrade options—especially if upgrades can be confirmed in advance rather than at check-in.

I’ve been a Diamond member for about eight years, so I’m curious if this might influence the likelihood of early upgrades or any other special perks at these locations. If anyone has recent experiences or advice for these destinations, I’d really appreciate your input!

Thanks in advance, and wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

    Cheers,
    John

I’ve not been to Dublin for a while but from memory none of the Hiltons have lounges and they are unlikely to grant complimentary upgrades beyond one category.

I love Irish sausages so breakfast in any Irish hotel is excellent to me. Other than that I recall they are all roughly average and comparable to Hiltons in Great Britain.

I can’t help with Dubai as it is not a place I visit often. The only Hilton I’ve stayed at in Dubai (Hilton Creek) has deflagged, but it did provide full dinner in the lounge. If staying in Dubai also consider Hiltons in the other emirates.

The Conrad Dublin does a very good breakfast with both a la carte and buffet options. The Hilton is buffet only and nothing to write hone about other than the fact breakfast meats and breakfast breads are far superior in ROI than UK.

Dubai i don’t feel anyone can really advise you due to the plethora of options, without knowing what you want from the trip – sightseeing and shopping, a pool break, a beach break, desert outings.

As for Dublin – I can’t speak to the Conrad there, as I haven’t stayed at it, but I regularly (once or twice a month) stay at the Morrison – as a Diamond member (and one they now recognise as I’m there so frequently) I get treated very well. No lounge; but a very good a la carte breakfast, and the Morrison Grill does really good food too…

I frequently get room upgrades – have even stayed in the penthouse suite 3 times gratis… you usually find out in the 24 hours before check-in starts if this is feasible.

Location is great – just across the Liffey from Temple Bar, so very centrally located.

They’re a lot of Hiltons to choose in Dubai, we have stayed 5 times at the Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah 5 times in the last 18 months, the Hilton Dubai Palm Jumeirah is at the beginning of the palm, the hotel has a lot of good bars and restaurants, we like McGettigan’s Factory an Irish bar/ food with live music at the weekends, with regards to breakfast, if you go to the main restaurant on the ground floor diamonds gat an additional menu with 5 items,(It changes every 4 days), the executive has a good selection of drinks and food, don’t look for much of an upgrade if any, My last upgrade was after complaining , was the same room 6 floors higher, they have a reasonable beach across the boardwalk.

    Conrad
We have stayed here a few times also, last time we were upgraded to a suite, breakfast is has a good selection, It is handy for the airport and tram station in front, the pool area was being refurbished the last time we were there.

Hope this has been some help.

Conrad Dubai. We were upgraded to a suite for our stay and they even let my mum (who was staying in another hotel) use the executive lounge with us.
Location is perfect if you are planning to go out and about. Train stop right outside and uber waits literally couple of mins.
Museum of future also just a short walk.

I’m only Gold, and have stayed regularly at Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. I can’t remember ever not receiving an upgrade of one form or another, usually an exec room to suite. Their Pearl Club is a fairly relaxing place, though not open all day, and with evening cocktails and canapés being fairly decent fayre.

Location on the Palm needs careful consideration as it takes around 20-30mins to get off the Palm from there, nd their restaurants are a bit ok’ish, but not brilliant. That said, it’s quiet and peaceful if that’s your vibe.

I’ve been to the Hilton on the Palm, but only for McGettigans. On a Saturday afternoon and evening it’s not for the faint hearted after brunch, and is here ally a much livelier location.

Conrad Dublin is highly regarded with great breakfast and location. But
    – the property is underwhelming
    – default rooms are small, even the ones we got with upgrades were small.
With Plat’s 2-4-3 or 3-4-4 deal, it made sense to us, otherwise it is not worth it, even for Dublin prices.

As a counterpoint, as a Diamond and booking the Impresario rate I’ve never received a room upgrade at the Waldorf Astoria Palm. They’ve also never gone beyond 14.00 for check out.

. That’s disappointing to hear, our friends usually staycay with us for part of our stay and they too are both Hilton Gold and they’ve enjoyed upgrades too (though could also be because they’re locals though tbf).

On check out, it’s usual for us to ask for something around 16:00-17:00 following afternoon tea, and we’ve never had a request declined. We’ve also left much later on a couple of occasions too, after cocktail hour on check out day too …. but these could have been pre-Covid and with the original Pearl Club team (who are now long gone).

The wilder townhouse is also now an option in Dublin (a SLH Hotel). Not stayed, but looks like a nice property?
