Redeeming a cabin upgrade voucher

Hi

I have just hit the 10k spend on barclaycard

There is a option on the app to redeem it

It then will take 5 days to hit my ba exec club

If I don’t redeem now

Will the 2 year validity only start when I hit the redeem button

Or has the 2 years countdown already started

Ideally I don’t want it to start yet as I want to get my 10k spend on Amex 2 for 1 done

Then I will hit redeem and I get 2 years on both from the same start dates

The validity starts when the voucher hits your BA account. I triggered mine mid-August, opted for it Sep 1st and the next day it was in my account with expiry date Sep 2nd.

I did notice that it said in the app it says you have until the anniversary date to select it, so you could theoretically push it quite a long way out.
