Morning All
I have followed HFP and Rob for years however not taken part in the forum. I really do need some help!
I have reduced the amount of Credit cards that I have and hit those with the highest APR/annual fees first which included Amex BA Premium Plus.
The situation is that I have 24K of Avios points left on my BA account which I am wanting to redeem for a couple of flights from EDI to LCY. However I have found out that I need to have a Amex card to make the payment….
Is there anyway around using another card or potentially purchase a AMEX USA Prepayment card to complete this transaction?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Kaz
Are you trying to redeem a BA 241 voucher? An Amex is needed to pay the surcharges for this, but for standard Avios redemptions, any type of card can be used to pay, doesn’t have to be Amex.
If it is the case that you’re using a 241 then if you know anyone else with an Amex this would work, otherwise you’d need to apply for one (I’m not familiar with the prepayment card you mention, so can’t advise.)
