Forums Payment cards American Express Referral hasn’t tracked. CS says can take up to 8-10 weeks.

I have been referred for a Platinum Card. Based on my experience, I know for a fact that it usually takes a couple of days for the referral to be processed. The customer service representative advised this person to wait.

Not true, in my experience. It is immediate or never.

The ‘strike rate’ has dropped a lot this year based on my experience but a lot does seem to be down to credit refusals rather than messed up tracking.

D’oh, this is so frustrating! The person who referred me never got their bonus. CS insists it can take up to 8-10 weeks.

The person who referred me has closed her account in July. I forgot to let her know to claim the bonus before closing. Now, the points cannot be applied as the MR account is also closed (over 30 days), despite the agent being able to confirm the eligibility. Should she still complain, or is there ultimately nothing that can be done?

I have had a mixture of virtually immediate credit (2 days after the friend was accepted for the card) to 4/6 weeks recently. But I reported here that Amex is making many changes, also about what the believe to be “valid” referrals
