Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Refusal of BA to release telephone recordings

  • 50 posts

    I am finalising a claim v BA and have asked them to supply the recordings of my conversations with them — do I have a legal right to these recordings? If not I will claim any way as I have notes of the conversations which will prove my claim and their error. Thanks

    I believe, you have GDPR rights to that data. Although you’re probably have to go through a specific channel in a GDPR Web page to get to the right people who a) understand your rights and b) have admin rights to access everything

    @1005dyer
    I obtained the recording I wanted from BA very easily by writing a GDPR request to them. Search GDPR on their website and the details are there. Mine was emailed to me within a couple of weeks. Frankly, I was impressed and thought BA should be commended for its no nonsense approach to this.

    Agreed, search DPO on the BA website. They responded relatively quickly, with a copy of the call I requested, nothing more/less, no shenanigans etc, so all worthy of praise on BA’s part.

    So BA haven’t actually refused to release the telephone recordings: because you didn’t ask them yet.

    I might as well start a new thread: ‘There’s absolutely no chance of getting a Long Haul BA Reward seat on points (not that I’ve tried looking)’
