Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Refused to combine two separate bookings with a voucher

  • 6 posts

The BA call rep wouldn’t combine separately booked inward and outbound flights booked with a companion voucher if the inbound flights was booked first. Apparently the terms of the voucher are worse than the Amex companion voucher. She was helpful and tried to escalate but was unable to combine. She advised me to check availability of an incoming flight. If this opened up she said she would then be able to combine with my outbound ticket and I could cancel the original booking. Might be useful for someone. This has put me off the Barclays vouchers. I have always previously used the BA Amex vouchers without issue.

If you mean inbound to the UK then that doesn’t sound unreasonable.

Given that the Barclays voucher must be used starting from the UK, if you made the initial inbound booking without a voucher then I wouldn’t expect to be able to retrospectively apply one.

Separetly booked flights can’t be combined into a single booking. doesnt matter if its cash, avios or using a 2-4-1 or barclays

But it’s not clear what vouchers you are using.

You start off saying you were using a companion voucher and then say it’s a barclays. They are totally different vouchers with totally different T&Cs
