Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Removing household members

My kids are all adult now and it makes sense for them to be independent on this now. Before I remove them I wanted to check if I might lose some of my avios to them in a pro rata style sharing? My avios balance is 242k, and household balance 250k, so I’d hope that I’d still have the 242k afterwards, be useful to have that confirmed. Thank you.

No problem doing that, everyone keeps their individual balances. Just make sure you don’t remove anyone under 18, according to the rules you can’t get them or their Avios back again.

Thanks. Whilst I’m here, my next step is to ‘merge’ with my partner, if she already has a household account, will one of us have to close theirs before we can be in one together? And does it make any difference which way round we do that?

If you are no longer in your original HHA, you can join hers. However, IIRC there was some rule about only being able to make some changes to HHAs every 6 months, so check the Ts and Cs to make sure you don’t fall foul of that.
