Thought it might be interesting to see what people are actually earning now we’re on the revenue-based scheme.
I’m a GCH and today booked LHR-GLA return in I class that cost £184, discounted to £113 in cash as I burned some Avios.
This used to net 2500, MMB is saying I’ll be awarded 1143.
Noticed MMB now has a message saying “your final total may change according to the cabin, carrier, route and date that you book”. Sounds like a get out clause when BA IT messes up.
Remember that BA only did this because ‘members requested it’
I’ve just received an email entitled “Rewards everywhere you go” to explain this “fantastic” scheme. Full of mealy-mouthed claptrap and complete and utter cobblers!!
Remember that BA only did this because ‘members requested it’
At least 2 members must have requested it in order for that to be true. Still hard to believe.
It’s certainly better for me…..I always book the cheapest tickets…and I think I got 200 Avios for a GBP 400 flight in the Summer. The same flight would get me 2400 AVIOS…..will be great for some not for others.
To be fair, if you don’t have status the break even point isn’t shockingly high. Worse for elites as the bonus is lower.

I’m sure key stakeholders have BAEC accounts so it would be technically true…
Our corporate travel agent booked me a £6k business class ticket to JFK today.. MMB shows it’ll earn 0 avios! That’s a new one.
Booked 3 HBO sectors to/from SOF yesterday evening, while the booking would still accrue under the old rate. Each sector was £50-£66 meaning it would earn virtually nothing based on the new calculation, as a Silver member it’ll earn 950 Avios per sector. Happy days, never to return.

It’s ok, as a Gold BA have reiterated by email today that it’s “Excellent news, all around.” 🤪
