Reward flight Avios value 6.6p?

I’m looking to book 2 reward flights LHR to FRA in late Dec, return late Jan. I looked at both Econ and Bus and the options shown for use of avios revealed a huge range value difference.
The cash price Econ Plus was £1002.74! Clearly don’t want anyone booking it. Bus £602.74.
The range of reward flight avios reduction for econ was from initial 38000 & £2 up/down to 12400 & £180. Deducting the £180 from the econ cash price and dividing the residual ‘cash’ cost for the Avios used is 6.63p!
Bus works out at 1.56p at best.
I’m silver and can use that to book extra luggage for us both as well as lounge access.
First time I’ve booked reward flights – have I missed something or is this a no brainer – pay the £180 and use 12400 to book the 2 reward Econ plus flights?
Sorry if this has been thrashed to death but I’ve searched and can’t see comparable comments.

Yes, 12400 avios + £180 is better than 38k avios + £2, but usually one of the middle options is best, it’s going to be something like £70 + 19k/20k/21k avios.

£1002 is irrelevant as I presume you wouldn’t actually pay that.

Use a valuation such as 0.8p or 1p to convert avios to pounds and then work out how much each redemption option would be in pounds.

I too have received a notional 10p per avios on LHR-FRA when the redemption rate was 4000 + £17.50 and BA wanted over £400.

@john: thanks for reply, apologies for delay in acknowledging.
You’re quite correct- I have no intention of paying that kind of price for a ticket. However, We do have to fly on those dates to meet connections. I’ll have another play with figures to amuse myself and then plunge in!
Of course, that’s based on the assumption the world of travel will have sorted itself by then – but those in charge aren’t currently demonstrating a great willingness to do so!
