Reward Flight change query

Hi
If I was to book return flights to faro for sept 2025 using avios points, but then couldn’t go, can I change the dates to the following year (2026) for a small fee? And is there a restriction on how far into the future you can rebook the flights. I have never changed a flight before

BA tickets are only valid for a year as 3b1

No. You would have to cancel and then rebook.

Which more often than not is cheaper than making a change due to the difference in the fees charged.
