Reported to VA today – the Reward Flight Finder has lots of inaccurate redemptions on PE/UC – example looked like some Florida returns had dropped for summer eg 45,000 o/w upper class – All of them I checked OTP with VA were actually 250k to 350k o/w today So worth checking carefully…VA did not seem that bothered OTP but I said it had wasted a lot of my and many others time searching then calling up to book for flights that are not there – This seems to have happened over the weekend hiatus so I will say no more….but just FYI if you see something low redemption value It probably is not there – If you multiply the number of hours /wasted phone calls it is at best very tedious for customers and VA call agents too……total waste of time ! Please do a dummy booking before calling up to check if they are there…I mistakenly did not and searched then called My fault
Yes, always double check via a dummy booking. With dynamic pricing, the reward finder page often lags behind the live system.
I was looking at some prices on the reward finder last night and it’s beyond human ken to make sense of it – e.g. PE at 13,500k on a Tuesday, but 96k the next day!!
That said, they have added some quite good saver fares to the West Coast over the past few days. I managed to get UC out to LAX and back from SFO in October for a total of 48,000 points (with a voucher). I’ve a feeling the Trump effect may result in more saver fares being released as the year progresses …
I’ve found it to be very accurate, but you need to check one-ways when doing a booking or it might not be. I fell into that trap.
Always pot luck whether to book or wait for more saver fares to be maybe released
VA admitted to me OTP that it was screwed up today – That’s the situation – BTW I posted about One Way Fares and finding better redemptions that way eg searching USA to UK etc O/W so time back on this Forum. Seems every time a comment is made some kind of “I know better – you should have done this comment comes back” – I think I will lay off trying to help for a while and let the stew – stew ! The comment on Pot Luck means nothing in this context surely ? The point was VA admitted the Reward Checker was wrong on multiple flights TODAY and I reported it END OF.

I flagged this the other day when @Rob said something like there were now only savers on east coast routes and none on leisure routes, I forget exactly what.
I checked RFS and then double checked with dummy bookings and easily found UC saver fares (and sometimes they were cheaper than PE) to both Orlando, LA and others.
They may have screwed RFS up this week but the saver fares for UC were definitely bookable last week.
@sxparkin – your post came across as a rant, tbh! So I think people were trying to help.
I don’t understand why you’d call without checking the live system first – surely you also want to know what the cash element is going to be as well, and that doesn’t show on the reward flight finder tool?
