I understand that for the new 241 vouchers earned (new one earned yesterday)on your BAPP card, extra seat availability is added in Business Class.
Is anybody aware whether the Reward Seat availability tools on BA.com reflect this extra availability or do you need to select dates to see the extra seats pop up?
or do you need to select dates to see the extra seats pop up?
You need to select dates *and* select two+ passengers *and* select the voucher.
Apparently it roughly aligns with availability in ‘I’ fare booking class. ITA Matrix can search this for you more efficiently than BA.com.
From our tests, if there are 8 or more I-class seats for sale, the extra availability should appear – but no guarantees.
Have BA secretly axed the extra 241 availability or is everyone flying to the US in the next few months? Can’t find J availability in the west coast anywhere until May minimum with the post-Sept 241?

That’s leaving it very late for an avios booking on a popular route. Also I imagine there’s a lot of demand now Covid restrictions have been reduced at both ends.
I’ve been looking at a near-term west coast business redemption across Delta, United and Virgin. There are very slim pickings indeed, but plenty in economy or premium economy. I think all the airlines are holding back to see what form the pick up in genuine business travel takes. I’m travelling alone, so no companion voucher thus no interest in spending Avios. Cash prices are high.
Looking at travelling with a change there were options through JFK, Miami and Washington. Timings were poor so I opted for direct and premium instead.
Even JetBlue seem to have pulled their ‘I’ class availability across the pond, just weeks after launching it.
I’m not sure how long this will last, nor have I any insight into how full those premium cabins are.
