Royal Jordanian Gold Sparrow on BA question

Hi I did the status match to Gold Sparrow with Royal Jordanian via Hilton diamond.

I added my Jordanian number to BA booking. Free advanced seat selection went fine for me and my partner who is on same booking. So all good.

However checked in online and I’ve been given fast track on my boarding pass but my partner hasn’t.

With the gold sparrow membership does anyone know if its only me who is entitled to fast track security or should everyone get it?

Think I’ve partially found the answer.

It seems to be published benefit at London Heathrow and Gatwick but not at other UK airports.

So seems she wouldn’t be entitled to it. But I’ll ask at the desk if they will give her it.

If anyone has any experience of getting some non published benefits at airports outside of London it would be good to hear.

That’s normal. You’ll be able to ‘guest’ one individual through fast track alongside you. It won’t show on their boarding pass because it’s you who has the benefit, which includes you bringing a guest. Same as lounge access.

You can guest them through fast track in the UK.

When abroad it’s very much on the whim of the airport staff. I’ve found they usually say no.

I’m guessing if you are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, you’d be pushing it asking for it to be extended to the children also if it is just the one guest? Thanks.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I also have the gold sparrow through status match but didn’t link it to my BA booking. I wondered if I can still use it for lounge access with a guest. Also flying economy but I don’t think this matters. Also flying from Glasgow but changing in Heathrow

Economy doesn’t matter, any lounges BA Silver gets you into, you should be able to get into with Gold Sparrow (with a guest). I used it travelling economy on 4 BA flights before Christmas and got lounge access for 2 everywhere. Only time I was questioned was at “Airport Lounge World” in Munich Airport, when the dragon asked me which airline I had status with, I told her Royal Jordanian and she just waved me through!
I also just keep a screenshot of my RJ card handy in case I’m ever asked.

Yes you can just flash your membership to get into the lounge but might be trickier to get fast track security unless you add your RJ number to your BA booking which you can do by calling, live chat or asking via X direct message (formerly Twitter). Also you can add your Royal Jordanian membership to your apple wallet via the app if you have an iPhone!

Thanks. I have fast track with the airport parking. But will be handy for the lounges.

I also have an issue accessing glasgow lounge using my BA FF (Bronze) on my boarding pass and trying to show RJ Gold Sparrow app on phone. Usually they say they dont accept it first then sigh a few times and say they will enter details. At that point they then say that I must change my boarding pass to put RJ number on it which I dont want to do as I want to collect Avios / Tier points.

Sometimes they relent , sometimes not but it is a whole load of hassle for me to enter the place where i want to go for less hassle!!.

Any tips / tricks to get past the lounge guard?
