Booked a TP run starting from SOF in July. SOF – LHR – BOS and onwards. The ticket is AA with the legs above on BA. Booked in Club. Can I do same day change to an earlier LHR – BOS? If so, do I contact BA or AA?

The FCOD policy doesn’t apply to connections, only point to point bookings. Not sure if the booking/ticket also needs to be with BA for the policy to apply. Of course no harm in asking BA once you arrive in London.

BA FCOD is short haul only. If AA offer something on long haul I would have thought you’d have to go through them. Still no harm in asking of course, but I can’t see BA covering a free change to an AA ticket.

As this is an AA ticket then you’d have to contact AA

But unless you have status they charge and it can be be pricey

Plus depends on what sort of time you want to change the flights to as there will be ticket deadlines and also the need to get your DHS ‘OK’ sent through to BA to allow you to board. And if you have luggage that’s an additional complication.

Can just anyone do a SDC if it’s BA operated and BA flight number and one leg flight? Or is status needed…

I believe it’s normally available for Economy Plus and CE revenue tickets. After midnight on the day of travel, and obviously needs space on the flight you want to change to. Not status dependent
