So SAS have announced the date for the switch to Sky Team as Aug 31st. There seems to be a lot of mention to benefits ( extra luggage etc) being available on “most” and “certain” Sky Team airlines…..
Not entirely helpful if you now have to try to guess which Sky Team airline flights you can get extra luggage allowance on with SAS status. Granted probably affects a small minority of people…
Anyone any thoughts about which ones may be excluded?

Yeah not the most useful of ‘updates’!

Also interesting that they’ll keep EuroBonus – “EuroBonus will remain SAS’ loyalty program, also after SAS leaves Star Alliance“ – I had assumed they might adopt Flying Blue or something.

Why? AF-KL only own 20% of SAS.

But with an option to own more in future.

I think it’s clear from recent OW advances with Qatar and Finnair that customers are fond of common currencies, so I thought perhaps some of the other alliances may lean in to this idea. It is already a bit annoying not being able to pool KLM and Virgin points, and I had hoped that this might be a catalyst for change.

    Just my thoughts!

Believe its a future step. In the C.11 filing in the US it suggests FB is attached to the AF/KLM purchase of additional shares in the future.
