I have no BA status and there’s zero chance I’m paying to choose a seat in a business class cabin, so will have to wait until 24 hours pre check in. There are two of us on the booking and the spare seats currently look questionable at best and this is on a A380.
How do BA allocate seats together? We obviously would have allocated seats somewhere but would they be together? Or do they split people up trying to cream more money for the seat fees to avoid this?
BA don’t deliberately split couples up but equally they won’t guarantee you sit together if those with status or who are willing to pay fill up all the pairs of seats so all that is left are singles.
Which route is it? Generally the middle pairs aren’t popular with single travellers but are great for couples so are often available unless it’s peak holiday dates to a leisure destination.
I wouldn’t expect to have any/many window seats available though, particularly on the upper deck.
Thanks, it’s to Dubai. Not much I can do really apart from wait to check in 24 hours I suppose.
And of course, some seats are not taken yet, but will appear to you as though they are. So there are likely a few more than you can see which will become available later

Or pay to allocate the seat.
