Seat reservation on Iberia reward flight

When I started booking IB flights last year, seats started appearing to select around 10/11 months out, I was BA Silver but I was being asked to pay. I tried all the tips here to resolve it but nothing worked. Then weirdly, when I went up to Gold in October, suddenly I could select seats for free on Iberia – no idea why it changed then!

The seating plan there actually showed up. Nowhere else did. Not BA, not IB, not Finn Air, not Qatar or any other area. Using booking on that MMB showed me seats being empty everywhere except the “honeymoon” middle 2. So I then called back a 4th time and got seats booked in the A350 cabin in the middle. 2D and H – they’re about as “close” together as CS on BA, would’ve preferred the closer ones but hey. Not a big deal.. so I think everyone is best to call Iberia to book seats on reservation, not give in to the “it’ll open at 10-9-8…” months time!
