There’s a certain of route I’m looking at and SeatSpy show economy and business availability but on BA there’s only business available. I wrote to them but got no response.

You wrote to who, SeatSpy? They usually respond to emails within a couple of days.

Their availability does lag behind BA and is sometimes completely wrong, you need to double-check everything on ba.com. That said, are you looking at all departures on BA? SeatSpy doesn’t show individual flights, so if it says, for example, 6 seats to NYC, these might only be on 2 services out of 10 (or however many there are on that day).

I also noticed this this morning, It’s the first time I’ve seen a miss-match though. Perhaps it’s a temporary glitch?

It’s quite a widespread problem. They had a lot of phantom availability on Virgin to Dubai when I was looking at that route a few days ago, and they often show phantom BA availability too. Having said that, BA’s own reward flight finder often shows incorrect results, and no tool is able to show the extra Companion Voucher availability.

I use Seatspy as a first-pass filter but never believe the results until I’ve tried a dummy booking.

I don’t think economy has been loaded correctly as it’s not available on any dates i’ve looked at even at t-355 days out, regardless of what seat spy says…

A cpl of weeks ago it was hugely inaccurate. Out of like 12 short haul destinations in econ, 7 of them werent available and 2 were only available in bus even tho it was showing econ. I dont think this was even due to old data cos it happened for like 5 days in a row, so either they dont refresh it very often or their sources are wrong.

SeatSpy is systematically inaccurate. I maintain my subscription because it costs buttons and I trust that one day they will fix it. There fortunately also appear to be enough people who rely upon it that those who don’t get the seats first.

I have finally received a response from SeatSpy . While I maintain that the information displayed is erroneous, I’m more inclined to agree that it’s not their fault, as the BA information is a real muddle.

Even the BA rewards app availability doesn’t match up with the regular BA app or the website.

So BA’s IT strikes again suprise surprise
