I’m rolling the dice… Planning to take the early LHR-BRU flight (lands 9.55am) then get the 1.35pm departure to HKG. HBO, business class on the long sector, but using two separate tickets.
This looks like it should be fine (so long as I don’t have a 3hr delay on the LHR-BRU, which is a risk I’m willing to take). I assume I can get online boarding passes for the CX flights OK.
Anyone have any top tips, anything I’m missing? This is in late October so will be after the roll out of EES but I’m assuming that shouldn’t be an issue as I believe I just stay in the B gate complex?
cancellation fee is EUR300, so about 11% of the ticket cost, Eurostar not really an option as I don’t live in central London.
The headline here should of course be BRU not HKG
Should be OK , but why not if you can play it safe and go night before. Save a lot of worry
Tony I think you’re sensible enough to appreciate and you’ve even calculated the risks.
Your plan could go wrong if you have bags as those wouldn’t be checked through so you’d have to enter Belgium to get your bags and then check them in with CX within their deadline which would knock a chunk of time off your 3 1/2 hours.
I would check the BRU airport website to double check the non Schengen to non Schengen transit process.
