How do Shangri-La online dining vouchers work?

Some of my Golden Circle points expire this year and we will be unable to get to the Shard to use them in time.

I can see an option to order dining vouchers online but it’s not clear:

1) if they will use the expiring points first
2) the length of validity of the vouchers

Anyone have any experience with this?

The vouchers are valid for six months from the date of conversion – I have just done some, and the expiry is June 22.
