Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Short connection at SFO

Hi i have a booking with BA to Las Vegas originally transferring at San Francisco with a 3hr connection, this has just been changed so is now 35 minutes, is it realistic?

Have noticed theres no flights scheduled later with American/Alaskan if the connection was missed. There is however a direct flight with British airways the same day to Las Vegas, is it feasible they’d change it to that if expressing concerns?

    No it’s not realistic.

If it has just been changed wait a couple of days to see if the bots catch up with the misconduct it may “see” the direct LAS flight as an option and auto rebook you.

Immigration is a nightmare at LAX/SFO we nearly missed a connecting flight with a 3 hour connection.

And that’s without sitting on the apron for 35 mins waiting for a gate as happened to me last time. Just SOP at SFO or most large airports really.

I wouldn’t try and connect via any US airport with less than 3 hours between flights, preferably 4. You’ll do it quicker if you’re not having to claim and then recheck luggage but I still wouldnt risk it.

Virgin told my 77 yr old mum she could do it in an hour and 50 mins at ATL and they wouldnt change her ticket. Ludicrous. Thankfully covid put paid to that trip otherwise she’d have been stranded overnight in Atlanta.
