Hi all
I last had the VA credit card in May 2023 and wondering if it’s been long enough to qualify for the sign up bonus? Is it 6 months or 12?
Many thanks
Six months. Anyway, you can’t be accepted and NOT get the bonus – you either get rejected, or you get accepted and you get the bonus. You can’t be accepted and not get a bonus.
If the companion voucher (or other reward) is triggered, will it be lost if you subsequently cancel the Virgin credit card?
@phantomchickenz as it stands no, you do not lose the voucher when cancelling the card.
I applied yesterday after cancelling last May.
I say applied, I applied for the free card by accident. Got approved & then realised.
I rang up & customer support said we can cancel but you cant reapply for 3 months – but we can waive this. I done so & was rejected for the reward plus.
Strange as no debt household income over £100k & excellent credit score/history.

Rob has mentioned you can appeal a rejection in writing, and that there’s a good of it being overturned.

I’m in a similar position here. Just applied and was accepted for the + card – glad I did after reading your experience. Hopefully you are able to get the decision overturned.
