Does anyone know how to credit Singapore Airlines miles to another Star Alliance partner? I flew recently, and they say that they can only credit miles to KrisFlyer. Can they really be correct, that the passenger has to contact the other airline for Singapore Airlines? See below….
“We can only assist to process your claim if you wish to earn miles to your KrisFlyer account. Since you want to credit the miles to partner airlines frequent flyer program (AC) then it is only right that you contact them for assistance.
Please note that although we are part of Star Alliance, we are still using different system hence we can not process your request. Members are required to contact the owner of the frequent flyer”.
You have used inaccurate terminology (as did the person responding to you) which has led to confusion.
“Singapore Airlines miles” is Krisflyer. You can’t credit “Singapore Airlines miles” to another programme.
If you want to earn Aeroplan points from a Singapore Airlines flight, you put your AC frequent flier number in your SQ booking, and if it doesn’t credit automatically you file a missing mileage claim with Aeroplan. Krisflyer doesn’t have access to Aeroplan accounts.
Conversely, you can earn Krisflyer miles from an Air Canada flight, by putting your SQ frequent flier number into your AC booking. If the miles don’t credit, you have to contact Krisflyer, not Aeroplan.
