Forums Payment cards American Express SLH £100 Cashback – pay at checkout possible?

  • 49 posts

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I can’t find any reference to it if it has…

I’ve been trying to book into The Fish before the cashback runs out at the end of this month. The Fish is listed on the cash back offer as a participating hotel. Rob mentioned in his original article that the cash back would only trigger on ‘pay at checkout’ rates…the problem is, neither SLH, Hyatt, Emyr or The Fish itself offer this way of paying, they are all prepayed rates (Even though cancellable up to 7 days). Am I misunderstanding something? Is there a way of getting the cash back at The Fish or not? 🤔

    Thanks folks

As long as the hotel processes the payment, you get the cashback. Won’t be an issue.

Whether you go via SLH, Emyr or the hotel it will be fine.

Obviously NOT fine if you pre-pay via Hotels.com etc because they process the payment and not the hotel.

Just for further clarification…would booking through Hyatt work the same as Hotels.com or would that work the same as SLH/Emyr?

    Many thanks

Would the same apply for the Worldhotels offer?

Pretty sure hotel takes payment if you book via Hyatt.

Yes. Booking via any channel should be fine if the trigger is ‘pay at checkout’.
