What are your essential requirements?I know – that’s why I’m struggling! Nice view, good location for eating out, museums etc. Looking at the Conrad (the OH fancies the FS but I think that’s a bit topping), the Hilton. Is there an independent jewel I’m overlooking?

Looks lovely; unfortunately not a BAH option…
Just been to Istanbul for 2 days…traffic mad. Blue Mosque under renovation inside so didn’t see what I suspect is marvellous decoration, only snippets. hagiasophia and topkapi palace were very busy . Loved the carpets and rugs, such beautiful designs . Cant help with hotels… we were on a ship. Enjoy your trip….I’m not going back!

The Conrad certainly delivers on the view if you get a room with a proper Bosphorus view. View from the rooftop bar is great too, but you’re not short of bars with good views in Istanbul.
