First time trying to book a hotel for a work trip since covid. Company policy is that we have to book via Amex Global Business Travel (GBT). I was looking up hotels there and noticed that there are different rates, namely (1) Company negotiated rates, (2) Amex GBT GHP Rate, and (3) Standard Rate.
I have Hilton Gold through Amex Plat and so was wondering whether any of those rates will allow me to use my Hilton Gold benefits, in particular free breakfast, room upgrade, and earning points?
If it makes any difference, the Hilton I’m looking at is the one on Deansgate in Manchester.
Amex hotel bookings tend to go through Expedia these days which means you won’t get anything. If you do a dummy booking the T&C should mention Egencia / Expedia.
