I know the logical thing to do would be to ask BA directly, but I don’t have the patience to attempt calling and asking and being told several answers, so hoping you guys can help!
Booked flight to SFO from ABZ in new year. Was silver status at time, confirmation email says 2 checked in luggage. Haven’t been able to retain status, so back to Bronze and manage my booking says 1 luggage. Think I can safely take 2? (Going on cruise as well as city break otherwise 1 would be more than enough)
Your status at the time of the flight will dictate if you can have an extra luggage. In this case you will be bronze so no extra luggage (similar to no access to lounge).
Seat selection is the tricky one. You may be able to select the seat now as you are silver. But once you drop to bronze you won’t be able to so if the plane changes or you want to select a new seat you will have to pay (up to 7 days before).
Your current status determines luggage allowance on the trip, so Silver will allow 2 bags to anyone on your booking. Sadly, your downgrade to Bronze is definitely a 1 piece allowance each.
