Apologies if this has been answered before.
I’m trying to follow what the rules re re status extensions. I am silver with a tier point collection year end of 8 Mar 2022. I will have 840 points by this date so not enough for the reduced amount neede for gold. I will likely get that in April 2022.
I know that my silver membership runs until 30 April 2023 but I’m unclear what happens with my tier points come Mar 2022. Will they reset to nil and I have to start again on my journey to gold? If so, am I still aiming for the reduced 1,125 tier points by Mar 2023 or is it back to the old 1,500? It would be nice if they didn’t reset but I’m sure someone is going to tell me they do!
Thanks in advance.
Your TP counter will reset to zero on 9th March 2022.
Nothing BA did to protect or extend status affected over the past two years has changed that.
I can’t remember the latest on when the usual TP targets kick back in though I do remember Rob wrote an article on it fairly recently that clarified it.
Your TPs always reset to 0 at the end of your tier collection year.
Regarding the thresholds, BA’s wording is ambiguous. My interpretation is that if you get 1125 TPs between 9 March and 31 December 2022, you will be gold until 30 April 2024.
However if you only have 1120 TPs at the end of 2022, you will need to earn another 380 TPs by 8 March 2023 to become gold.
Another interpretation is that the 1125 TPs only need to be earned by 8 March 2023.
