I was trying to book 4 Avios seats at 1am this morning and first of all I couldn’t log in (due to “maintenance on my account” (something like that)) and then it was charging strange amounts. I was expecting to pay 43k Avios + £70 but it wanted to charge 43k Avios + £115.20.
I ended up booking it at that but then dummy bookings were pricing at £70 so I then booked the same flights on my wife’s account at 43k Avios + £70.
At the end of her booking process it threw the maintenance error but it does look like it’s gone through correctly.
Obviously I’ll cancel my booking within 24 hours so long as I’m sure my wife’s has gone through correctly.
Anyone know what’s going on our is it just dodgy BA IT?
I had a similar situation a few weeks ago when booking a reward flight for a household member where it was slightly cheaper for me to do the booking via my account than the family member’s. I put it down to my being Silver but that makes no sense. Think it was LHR-BUD.
The only thing I could think is that it wasn’t applying RFS pricing for some reason. It’s certainly not the case that I haven’t earned an Avios recently!
The route was LGW-LPA.
I have a flight coming up LHR to CFU, I’ve booked 6 of us in club with Avios, I’ve just had a look at seat selection (just out of interest as I don’t have status and I’m not paying £25 per seat) and there are only 5 seats available? They have 8 rows available, I’m assuming blocked seats will open up before check in and we should all be ok?
You should be fine at OLCI. If you’re quick you might even be able to bag row 1 which would be very pleasant on a flight of that length.
