Switch to Virgin M Plus Account

I’ve set up a Monzo account for the purpose of switching to Virgin and receiving the 15,000 points. The terms asks for a full bank switch with two direct debits. Do I need to set up the direct debits in Monzo first or can I just set them up in Virgin after the switch?

I believe they need to be active pre switch. You can set up a charity donation or National Lottery direct debit if you don’t want to move over actual bills etc.
